Dr. Sajin Sunny Mathew completed his MBBS at Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana and then went on to earn his MD in Respiratory Medicine (First Rank) from Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Pune. He has also completed his DNB in Respiratory Medicine and was awarded the Dr. M Santosham Gold Medal for securing the highest marks during the NBE Convocation held in New Delhi from the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. He has successfully passed the prestigious HERMES examination conducted by the European Respiratory Society and was awarded EDARM (European Diploma in Respiratory Medicine) from the University of Bern, Switzerland.

Prior to joining the Bangalore Baptist Hospital team, he has been working as a Specialist Pulmonologist at Aster Medcity, Kochi.

His areas of interest include interventional Pulmonology - in performing procedures ranging from thoracocentesis, tube thoracostomy, flexible Bronchoscopy for BAL and TBLB, Thoracoscopy to complex procedures like Linear EBUS and Cryobiopsy. He is also interested in treating bronchial asthma, COPD, Tuberculosis, ILD, pleural diseases and in critical care.

He has publications in national and international journals to his credit.
